NEW PHOBIAS NEED NAMES

Recent research has found that there are many phobias that do not yet have names.  We urgently need the correct Ancient Greek terminology so that those inflected can be correctly treated.

Below are 8 common phobias

Fear of failing the Turing Test [.ie,  being mistaken for a machine]

Fear of being oneself

Fear of not knowing one is phobic

Fear of not being able to describe this phobia

Fear of not knowing the appropriate Greek jargon to describe a phobia

Fear of being eaten with tomato sauce

Fear of seeing oneself or part of oneself

Fear of being attacked by dinosaurs

There are more - estimates range from 43.52763 to 435276422333378239 x 3.126731522139.

Watch this space.  And please inform us of the correct Greek terminology ASAP as possible.

Why Greek?

Who decided that phobias (and philias, and lots of other things) should be in greek? Ancient Greek and Latin are both DEAD languages. Anyway, things like Italian, Japanese, Russian and German are much more poetic and nice-sounding. Ergo-Damn, that was latin- I mean folglich -, Fear of being eaten with tomato sauce becomes Tomatensaucegegessenwerdenfurcht. More or less.

In fact, why even bother with another language?!
-Caleb "Yes, that IS a mistake. We don't sell grilled Surgeon" Wells
--Then Ares strode out, with shield and spear,
--A mighty warrior to strike fear into our hearts.
--But we just shot him, just like in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
--And all the rest fled.

why

is tomato sauce in English ?
And at least it is not in Greek. And does not reek .

why not greek?

What has this Caleb person got against the greeks I wonder? And just because he or she thinks Russian and Italian sounds better doesent mean they are better. As for me I quite like Greek and Latin and maybe even Aramayic - ok spelling wrong I know. Bets

Tomato Sauce and other animals

Tomatensuace is German for Tomato Sauce.
Maybe we should make our own language. I see Geek, anyway. Fill it with jargon.
Ancient Greece is different from modern Greece. And I am always right. In fact, It's my middle name. Anyway, German is close enough to English to understand, but sounding exotic.

-Emperor Calibula I Am Always Right Wells
--Then Ares strode out, with shield and spear,
--A mighty warrior to strike fear into our hearts.
--But we just shot him, just like in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
--And all the rest fled.

TWO NEW PHOBIAS

Reading texts carefully
Checking my facts before commenting
I knew phobias had a use; they explain all one's defects; not as good though as it's not my fault I didn't choose my brain [which is my usual.
Anyway I am still looking for time for working out commonly accepted labelling of the above [no doubt] normal phobias; of course such a definition will have to be in Greek despite Caleb's loyalty to Germania [or is that Christopher ?]

TRIBOTRICPHOBIA

The fear of being electrocuted from electricity produced by friction; ie., the fear of dying from the static electricity produced by being touching a plastic chair when someone has been rubbing on it.

To date, this phobia has very seldom occurred in the normal population [ie., not including the obsessive compulsive] but now that the phobia has been identified it is likely that a pandemic of it will soon exist.  [after all, nothing happens if you don't know it, WKN 2006]

And there must be a phobia for not describing a phenonemon correctly .

TRIBOTRICPHOBIA

OR: Statischelektrizitätfurcht

-Caleb "Things look a bit different when you're staring down the barrel of a chicken" Wells
--Then Ares strode out, with shield and spear,
--A mighty warrior to strike fear into our hearts.
--But we just shot him, just like in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
--And all the rest fled.

Something to do with probability

I initially thought but then I looked beyond the first 4 letters !

homophonicphobia

The fear of always sounding the same !

Or the fear of having the melody while the others provide the harmony !

There are some other fascinating sound phobias [ie., constant; steady] phobias that I am discovering that will very likely refocus the psychiatirc world on the new issues rather than the bland typical phobias that we are all sick of !
