ORTHOGONALLY RELATED 'OPPOSITES'

Can you find two words that are unrelated but appear to be opposite to each other?

DISAPPOINT and APPOINT appear to be partially othogonally related (OR).
DISAPPOINT implies expectations weren't met whereas APPOINT suggesst someone just got a job. (My Consise Oxford Dictionary does give the above two words have a common word origin.)

A similar pair is DISMISS and MISS.
