Early Childhood: Born into an impoverished family, Leroy discovered a small alcove in his shared bedroom wall. While his 5 siblings slept, Leroy dug away at the rotting plaster and found a small cache of J.R.R Tolkien novels, a collection of Ray Bradbury short stories, and assorted fantasy classics. While his siblings slept, he switched on a small pocket torch, his most valuable, yet not treasured possesion. At first it was complicated, but he eventually taught himself how to read with help from his older brother, Samson. He was just 5 at the time. Every night he wasn't reading he continued to chip away at the wall, covering it with a poster. Eventually he realised that there was a small library that had been plastered over. He was away for hours at a time, but Samson, his only friend, covered for him. By the age of 7, he had read all of the books in there off by heart. His mother quickly discovered this and sent him off to school, with some money she had set aside. His other siblings except Samson never had this chance. He was bullied, and made little friends except with a girl called Mika in his class. She lived in his run-down neighborhood, and had little books as well. He frequently invited her round to his house to read with him. One day, 2 years later, when they were reading together, a street gang broke into the Heidiger house. The two of them hid in the wall, while his siblings and parents were taken from him. He watched Samson struggle valiantly as the muggers smashed the windows, and stole everything of value. Leroy's whole family was kidnapped except Samson, who obtained a nasty blow to his head and was left behind. Mika and he carefully stepped out of their almost caved-in alcove and rushed through the recked house towards the limp body of Samson on the ground. While Mika tended the body, Leroy ran to Linus's safe, punched in the combination, and pulled out his Swiss army knife and First Aid kit. Together, using small knowledge from Health class, they healed the cuts on his body. When Samson recovered, they pieced together a survival kit from the remaining nessesities and took to the streets to find the Himuras, Mika's family. Unfortunately, the gangsters had not been so merciless. Racism had driven them to shoot the Himuras repeatedly, from Mika's 8 year-old brother, to her 63-year old Grandfather. After Mika's grievances and a small funeral Samson arranged, they left together and took to the streets, and were busking and begging for 2 1/2 years.

Pre-teens: One day, when Leroy returned to the makeshift shelter they had fashioned in the Cape Town High Street, he found two Eastern looking adults, along with SAmson and Mika. They introduced themselves as Omar and Beatrix Rostami. They said they felt sorry for the three of them, and had decided to oficially adopt them. They immediately travelled to the Rostami's house in their modestly expensive car. After 2 hours travelling across desert plains, they reached a brilliant country/desert mansion. The three children, who only had seen tenements in their whole life, were in awe. Was this the house they would be living in? Omar answered.
"Don't get too attatched to it, we are a nomadic family! Beatrix is a pilot, and we will be flying out to our mansion Finland in 3 months!"
"But how can you afford it?" Samson asked
"Oh, I am a Bahrainian Baron, and heir to a large fortune"
So they lived in the massion for three months. Leroy already knew English and Afrikaans, but Omar Put him on a Europen languages crash-course, as he had a bachelor's degree in it. Beatrix was more subtle, and designated things he had to say in Korean to her in everyday speech. Samson learned The languages along with Leroy. Mika was already an expert in French, Japanese and Korean, so Omar taught her Nordic languages to help with the trip to Finland. Leroy also learned Judo, Fencing and Archery from Beatrix. All their days were very full.
"You'll all start an internet correspondence school on the flight" Omar said one day.
"I thought you couldn't use computer on planes" asked Mika
"These ones you can" said Beatrix from her bubbling pot in the kitchen. She was also teaching Leroy how to cook. This went on for three months, and by the time Leroy was 12, he had flown over 20 countries. The correspondence school was very friendly, and seemed to include people from all over europe. While Leroy thanked Omar for all the languages he learned, he was thankful for online translators. He and Mika enjoyed it very much, and Samson was enjoying his online crash-course for university alot too. THe brilliant hing about correspondence school is you can space put the lessons however you want, just so long as it is 25 hours a week, plus 6 hours homework. In his village, he met one of the students, named Aleksi Agnarsson. It was at this time that Leroy got into writing, and would have a book of his short stories ready to publish by July that year. But an odd army, called Turquinians, threatened Finland on and off, and there was this kid called Earnest all over the news. He did some research online for him, and found he was in Turkey, the place they were going in a week. Aleksi volunteered to come with them, as he had no family here and was staying in a backpackers. He said he had family in Syria, so they took him there with them. Leroy searched every day for earnest, and followed his legacy. He was determined to follow him, and would find him eventually.
