It's Easy To Make New Friends (By Tyla Kruger - 14yrs)

When she told me it would be easy to make new friends I knew she was lying. I knew by the way my Mom looked down at the bench and the sandwiches cut into triangles. I felt like crying but I didn't and instead I almost ran out of the kitchen, the new kitchen that was slightly smelly with other peoples dinners, and slammed the door. I should have run away when they started packing up the old house, the real house at Leewood Heights, but of course I didn't do that. The only thing I liked about leaving my old friends was the party they gave for me. It was a sleepover party and nearly everyone in my class came.
My Mom called me back into the smelly kitchen and handed me the packet of peanut butter sandwiches. She said, `I know yesterday was difficult but today youll find it will be easyier and by the end of the week you will have new friends.' I knew she was lying.
